Lost in Thought
[Erotic poetry by Keri Fields]
I close my eyes and hear
the song, before it starts there’s this
voice
What are you thinking about?
Hazy and lilting the words
drift by but I don’t see
anything. I am entombed in
raw emotion
nothing
but the tight clench of my core that
pulls my face muscles taut as
if I could satisfy lust
with longing. The feel
of your breath is so thick
in my memory that
remembrance alone threads
tingles across my skin. My
nipples strain against my bra,
searching for your mouth. I
bite into my lip to silence the moans,
pretend they’re just a humming, a
song. The heat in my cheeks
betrays what I am, a
living dead girl, fully
alive on an unending brink of
la petite mort. My
toe tips press into the
floor to swirl my chair. My
hips settle heavier in my seat.
leaking fiercely now my
cunt drowns itself in liquid warmth.
What are you thinking about?
Spoken aloud the question
jars me alert and my
coworker smiles, so innocent
and unaware. I smile too and say
Nothing
as I shift my hips to
better enjoy the
puddle between my thighs.
